Course Schedules

We at Aquatic Dreams Scuba Center look forward to helping you get trained as a PADI Assistant Instructor. In training to become an Assistant Instructor, you will concentrate on developing your Knowledge Development (Classroom), Confined Water (Pool), and Open Water (Ocean) presentations to Instructor demonstration quality. As a PADI Assistant Instructor you will be able to independently conduct many PADI programs, or choose to go on to an Instructor Development Course (IDC). If you have any questions, or would like to sign-up, stop by, call us, or send us an e-mail.

Course Prerequisites
In order to become a PADI Assistant Instructor you must first already be a PADI Divemaster (or other qualification certification from another organization). You must be 18 years old and be certified in CPR and First Aid. You must also have certified for at least six months prior to starting the class.

Class Schedule
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is conducted over a three week period, consisting of four weeknights, one weekend (class/pool) and one open water dive.

What you will need to buy
You will need the PADI Instructor Manual, Instructor Candidate Workbook, Confined Water cue cards, Open Water cue cards, the Confined Water Presentation slate, and the Open Water Presentation Slate. Your Instructor will inform you of any other books and other materials you may need. You will need your own personal snorkeling gear (which includes masks, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, hood, PADI dive table or wheel, whistle, and a timing device).

What you may rent
You may rent the rest of your scuba diving equipment from Aquatic Dreams Dive Center. This includes your wetsuit, regulator, weight belt, buoyancy control device (BCD), and tanks.

Medical Concerns or Questions: If you are currently under the care of a Medical Doctor, or have a preexisting condition that requires permission from a Physician, you will need to have a Medical Release before any in-water activities.  It is required by PADI that all divers in professional level courses have a current physical on record within the last 12 month before the programs begin.  PADI Medical Release Form.
