Rescue Diver

Why PADI Rescue Diver course?

The PADI Rescue Diver course is more than learning how to rescue other divers.  Much of the course focuses on self rescue techniques and being able to assist your buddy is a bonus.  Diving is a buddy sport so learn how to assist yourself and your buddy.

What do I need to start?

  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior  Advanced Open Water Diver certified (or qualifying certification from another organization)

  • Emergency First Response CPR & First Aid (or qualifying certification from another organization)

  • Minimum age: 12 years old

What will I do?

The PADI Rescue Diver program develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. PADI Rescue Diver (or other qualifying) certification is also a prerequisite for all PADI leadership programs.

How many dives are there?

  • Minimum Open Water Training: three dives over one day

What will I need?

  • PADI Rescue Diver Crew-Pak and video.* (included with course)

  • Full set of Scuba Diving Equipment (rentals available)*

  • Pocket mask, whistle and cutting tool (which can be purchased at Aquatic Dreams)

  • Other books and equipment may be introduced by your instructor.

Where can I go from here?

This course also counts toward your Master Scuba Diver certification.
