Let us Teach you to Dive.

We at Aquatic Dreams Scuba Center are thrilled to work with scout groups in the Central Valley. We hope to enrich scouting experiences by offering the opportunity for scouts to become certified scuba divers and earn the following merit badges in the process: Scuba Diving, First Aid, Lifeguarding, Swimming and much more. We have experienced merit badge counselor and we are a PADI 5 star Instructor Development Center. Stop by our shop or make an appointment for us to come to your troop meeting so we can show you the thrill and excitement of scuba diving.

Let us help your scouts earn their Merit Badges!  Below are the Badges we can currently offer as counselors and trainers.  If there is a specific badge that you would like, please let us know.

Scuba BSA

Scuba BSA introduces qualified Boy Scout, Venturing and registered adult participants to the special skills, equipment and safety precautions associated with scuba diving, encourages aquatics activities that promote fitness and recreation and provides a foundation for those who later will participate in more advanced underwater activity.

The Scuba BSA experience contains two parts — Knowledge Development and Water Skills Development.  During the first part, participants learn basic dive safety information and overview skills to be used during their water experience. The Water Skills Development session introduces essential dive skills, such as mask clearing, regulator clearing and alternate air source use.

The Scuba BSA program is conducted in clear, confined water by an instructor certified by diving organizations recognized by the BSA. Completion of Scuba BSA requirements sets the stage for additional training, but does not qualify the participant to dive independently, either in confined water or open water environments.  Scuba BSA is not a diver certification.

Prerequisites

Minimum Age: 10yrs  ( The age requirement has been lowered with the introduction of the NEW Scuba Merit Badge )

Scout Price:  $15.00 per person*

Open Water Scuba / Scuba Merit Badge

Perhaps you have dreamed of being able to fly. When you watch astronauts work on the International Space Station during a space walk, you might have thought, “Boy, I wish I could do that.” The good news is you don’t have to be an astronaut to experience a similar weightless feeling. Similar experiences and adventures are available to you when you learn to dive with self-contained underwater breathing apparatus—or scuba—equipment.

Once you venture underwater, your life will be changed. You will gain new confidence about your abilities and learn about the underwater world.  Whether you dive in freshwater or the ocean, there is always something new to see, learn and do underwater.

Boy Scouts and PADI (The Professional Association of Dive Instructors) have partnered to bring scouts new opportunities.

PADI Seal Team

The PADI Seal Team program is an exciting underwater activity filled introduction to the world of diving. The PADI Seal Team program gives children a chance to swim around underwater and experience adventure, discovery and thrills. It also provides parents or guardians with a structured program that lets their children develop skills, learn about the aquatic realm and have a lot of good, clean fun.

To become official members of the PADI Seal Team, kids must complete the first five of 15 AquaMissions. These activities develop fundamental scuba skills and knowledge while preparing kids for further adventure. Children learn about diving by watching the PADI Seal Team video, through the PADI Seal Team AquaMission Activity Book and during predive briefings with their PADI Instructor. Each AquaMission consists of a briefing, a skill session and a game or activity.
